March 20 - The move has now happened and we are in the new space.
Pictures to come and will be in the gallery pages. Work is going on,
but classes are up and running!
March 1 - As those of you who have been with the school for
awhile know, the location on East 10th Street was one we took on a
temporary basis when we found the Lexington Avenue space to be
non-workable. (For those who weren't here then - we had problems
getting heat, water, electricity; the landlord hadn't told the
tenants below us that we were a martial arts school, and they
constantly complained about the noise - even after we soundproofed
the floor, and the rent was just too high!) Originally we had hoped
that we'd have close to two years on East 10th Street, as that was
when the bar on the ground floor's lease was up - the landlords want
to completely renovate the building. Unfortunately, the bar went out
of business and the landlords would like to move up their renovation
schedule. They are working with us to find a new space, so we aren't
having to scramble or anything, but we are out looking at new
locations. We'll keep you up to date as we know more. |
