Information:

Joined CHKA in November of 1993. Blackbelt as of November 2002.
Also studied Tae Kwon Do and received his blackbelt in April of 1992.

Any tournament wins, or awards you are particularly proud of?

I competed in the 2000 U.S. Capitol Classics and Twin Towers Classic, placing second, then first in fighting. I am probably prouder of the Twin Towers because I had to learn from my mistakes to place first!

Why did you begin in Martial Arts?

I was nine years old and it seemed "cool". I continue because there will always be room for improvement. It is a part of me, a way of life. I continue because it never ends.

Why did you choose CHKA?

Originally because I thought these guys were not only intense, but a little insane to train the way they do. These guys were workaholics, perfectionists, and passionate about everything they do. My kind of people.

Anything you'd like to say about the Martial Arts?

CHKA has a nice way of blending the old with the new, circles with lines, strikes with locks. It is strong in its roots, but flexible enough to adapt and evolve and grow. I think this is important in whatever you study. If we are better than others, it's because we train harder then they do. If done properly, Martial Arts will make you a better person.

Outside of CHKA, what else is happening in your life?

I'm finishing up my bachelor's degree in Political Science and English. I also do security for Deutsche Bank with an outfit of the Marines. I am still also currently serving as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
