Bluegrass Nationals Karate Championships, Twin Towers Classic,
Tom Festa's Greater Metropolitan Nationals, Battle of the
Dojos, U.S. Capitol Classics, Empire State Nationals, The Big
Apple Winter Open, Ocean State Grand National Karate
Championships, and the Battle of Atlanta. My favorite
achievement was winning second place in the NASKA Intermediate
Senior Men's Forms.
Why did you begin in Martial Arts?
There are many reasons why I began
in martial arts, but the main one is that I have always liked
it and been fascinated by it. It took me a lot of searching to
find an instructor who I really wanted to learn from. The day
I found CHKA and Sifu Shamburger, he caught my attention and I
have been with him ever since. I continue at CHKA because no
matter what level I reach, or what I accomplish, there is
always more to learn.
What Martial Arts organizations have
you been involved with?
I am affiliated with CHKA, and
through our school with Tracy's International Studios of
Self-Defense; United Kenpo Karate; American Kenpo Karate;
United Karate Federation; United States Dragons Tong Karate
Academy; and the World Champion Steve Anderson Academy.
Are there any awards you are
particularly proud of?
Most recently I was inducted into
the Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Fame with an award
for Outstanding Contribution in the Martial Arts Spirit. In
2000 I was inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame as a
top Assistant Instructor.
Outside of CHKA, what else is happening
in your life?
I made a television appearance in
"Combat Karate" for Showtime. I have been part of movie
premiere demonstrations for movies by Chuck Norris, Steven
Seagal, and Jean-Claude van Damme.
